Delhi - India

Delhi is a modern city mingled with that messy and chaotic India you were looking for when you decided to travel so far. In my experience, locals were gentle on the streets, despite the determination of street vendors towards making as many rupees as possible out of you. Looking Western may grant a celebrity feeling, as you are photographed and schools girls wave when you pass by. Traffic is a wonder to behold, as constantly honking cars fight for space with buses, trucks, motorcycles, rickshaws, bicycles, tuk-tuks, pedestrians and the occasional cow. When crossing a street, one should look right and left, front and back, and up and down.

Delhi has its fare share of touristic spots, echoing India's ancient history and multilayered religions. Lotus temple, Humayun's Tomb, Connaught Place and Akshardham temple are only a few of the interesting places to visit. India is an experience by itself, and there is a chance you will find walking around and interacting with people the most interesting thing to do at all.
